Stony Brook Community Children's Music Program
In the Stony Brook Children's Music Classes, children learn the basics of pitch, rhythm and notation through games and exercises involving singing and physical movement. By developing their musicianship at an early age, students will be a better position to begin their formal musical study with deeper understanding and skill. Starting in the Fall of 2018, the Stony Brook Community Children's Music Program will consist of two levels of First Steps in Music and an Orff Ensemble for students in grades 2-5.
